Using free-motion, hand-controlled stitching, I draw straight onto fabric — no automation, no printing, just thread and movement. Every piece is a little weird, a little wonderful, and totally one-of-a-kind.

Hi, I’m Claire — the one-woman stitcher behind Lucky Threads.
Every piece is stitched by hand in my UK studio, created slowly, intentionally, and infused with good energy — a little quiet magic in every stitch.
Lucky Threads began with a love of tattoo-style line art, storytelling, and the beauty of imperfect, human-made marks. Today, each design is still drawn free-hand with thread, meaning no two pieces are ever exactly the same.
What Is Free-Motion Thread Art?
Free-motion thread art is machine stitching guided entirely by hand.
No automation. No print. No repeats.
Think sketchy tattoo-style lines, organic movement, and bold personality. Because the thread is controlled manually, each line has its own life and texture — the opposite of mass-produced embroidery.
This technique allows me to “draw” straight onto sweatshirts and tees using only thread. It’s expressive, imperfect in the best way, and wonderfully unique.
